4th of July
I know how lame that I'm just now blogging about the 4th of July. But at least it is getting documented right.
We decided to take some family time and just enjoy our surroundings before we were no longer able to.
We drove up to Palisades hoping we could hike up to one of the lakes, but to our dismay it was raining and lightning was right there to follow. So instead we drove around the resevoir and enjoyed the quiet mountains.
We then decided to drive to the Tetons and see what they are all about. Dillon has actually flown right next to them but I have never seen them so this was more for me. Once we got up there we realized they were all fogged over so instead we looked around the museum. It was actually pretty cool. When we were walking back to the car we noticed all the fog had cleared and you could see the mountains perfectly. They are majestic in their very own way. As we were leaving the museum there were a ton of people on the bridge and pointing. As we slowed down we saw what they were seeing. A huge moose. Wow...that really topped the day off. We drove home and watched the fireworks in the ritzy subdivison behind our apartments and just relaxed. It was a great day just driving around and being together. The best part is that Elijah was good the whole day. He is a mellow little guy. I would have to say that this 4th of July was probably my favorite 4th of July.
